This is a potentially scary question, but does "the truth" mean the same thing to men and women? Can men handle the truth about women? Can women handle the truth about men? And do either of them REALLY want to know "the truth" as the other sees it?
If anybody wants me, I'll be hiding in a corner...No, I'm not saying which corner...

I read Monitor's answer and realize that perhaps "the truth" does not mean the same thing to both sexes. I think the truth is showing who you are completely. Nothing held back. All imperfections and blemishes along with the treasures and the assets. Sharing all information and not hesitating to do so.
I seriously don't think that "all" men want to know the truth. (yes.....I'm generalizing......and I'll be in that corner with you in just a second). But seriously....... they want things to just go along in life all smooth and layed back and facing the truth might cause a bump in the road. It might be something they have to deal with. And "some" (again.....generalizing) just would rather see what is on the surface without having to explore the deeper truths that could "complicate" their lives.
Women want to know all. God we are weird! We feel that if we don't know "all" about the person we are with, we aren't fully invested in the relationship. So we screw up and think men would naturally be the same way. Thus we start sharing things about ourselves. When the men hold up their hands like "Whoaaaa" women don't realize it is because hearing the truth means they have to deal with it, and they would rather keep the image they have.....than seriously face the truth. (Again......a generalization. Not ALL men react this way!)
Women handle the truth better than men.... and they also define "the truth" totally differently. If you need me....well, I've bypassed the corner and I'm off on a month long trip to Zimbabwe.

personally i think men and women have the same ideas what the truth means but at the end of the day both men and women find it hard sometimes to hear the truth!!
men deal with it diffrently to how a women would

Will knowing the truth about how women see things really set me free...or just cause me to have severe headaches?
It's hard to function with the people in your life if they are providing you with erroneous information. So on that level of truth I would certainly like to know whether or not something is "the truth" with the women I interact with.
On a higher level of knowing universal truths about women...I'd rather not know...ignorance is bliss...and women are supposed to be mysterious, right? So why know? It'll just going to give us men headaches...I'm sure of it.

this woman wants to know the truth about men, but doubtful that i can find a man to be honest with me - as far as women they really are not that complicated when it comes to the truth - most of us just want respect and honesty & a little notice for a date.
