Why approach them at all? Unless you have children with the ex spouse. Why would it make at all a difference how you do it?

The only reason you would have any contact with your ex is if you have children together. If that's the case, then your contact should be soley regarding the children.
I went through a period when I got a divorce where I didn't even want to hear my ex's voice on the phone, but because of the kids, I had to deal with it. Today, we only talk "children" related issues. Anything other than that is none of his business.

"Approach"? Not sure exactly what you are getting at. Ex as in soon to be divorced? or ex as in you are currently married trying to hook up with somebody else from your past? The EX is an EX for a reason... leave it alone.

I'd approach my ex only if I was holding a gun on her....
Why do you want to approach your ex? If you run into them in public, say Hi, how are you doing? and move on.

I'm not sure why you would be worried about that to begin with. If there are no children or lingering feeling then it shouldn't be an issue.

If you are married, their is no need to bother with it. What you need to do is concentrate on making your marriage, as successful as possible!

act friendly and nice,even though your relationship didn't last,you can still be good friends,just remembers all your good times together,does will make him feel good,so does you.
