The best thing is to make a clean break of it. When you make a point of seeing him, talking to him, being around places you used to go to together, etc., it just prolongs the agony, and prevents you from moving on. When I broke up with my first love, I began to feel like a stalker because I kept trying to "bump" into him. Finally, I sought a job change and just left town. It was definitely the best thing...I was in a new place, made new friends, and quickly found a new guy...who I eventually married, BTW. Even if you can't make that drastic a change in your life, you can try to avoid being around him and things that remind you of him. Good luck.

Only you can answer if you are still in love with him. The best way to move on is to break all contact with him (unless children are involved). If you can't break all contact, limit the amount of time you talk to him, and limit what y'all talk about. Every time y'all talk about the pass and how it use to be, you are just gonna want to Shag him again.

If you want to move on and have valid reason, focus on those reason...ie he doesn't traet you how you want to be treated, he's not attentive enough, he's disrespectful. You do what you think....if you think he's bad for you, your mind determines what you will do. If he is a good guy and you just want to move on then have a stupid/made up arguement and use that as an excuse to never call him again.
