I think it is YEARS...the apostrophe is used to miss a letter out....IE he is/he's, but my daughter says that if you were to say 'I'm go in to a new years party' it would be spelt like this but 'this new year's party' would be spelt like this as you are actually on about the party its self in the sentence.
Confused?....I sure am and I dont know whats wot now!!! Sorry!
