If one takes a look and Greek and Roman mythology, we see old beliefs as mere stories. I'm sure that the people of the time believed in the very stories we read about. Considering that, do you think that one day your religion, or all people's religion, will become mere stories taught to children in the form of mythology? Everyone needs something to believe in, but if there was one actual truth, would we not all believe the same thing?

I don't think that the ancient peoples necessarily believed their mythologies the way Christian fundamentailists believe theirs.

I think they looked at it as more allegories, parable for things they never expected to have explanations for.

I think that assuming their mythologies were dogmas would be like archeologists of millenia from now assuming those of us alive today believe our movies to be real, rather than being archetypes, stories, and perhaps vehicles for thinking about the world around us.

To me there IS only one truth, that Jesus died on the cross for me and millions of others and washed away our sins. That belief is our ticket to heaven. That belief has been around for over 2000 years and will be here until the end of time. Greek and Roman mythology is just that, a myth, that was conjured up for the amusement of the people of that time.
It would be nice if everyone in the world believed in one God, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

Perhaps one day people will look at our religions differently, but we will all be dead by that time....

as for the one actual truth:
While one actual truth would be nice, there is no such thing, just like there is no such thing as perfection. No religion can actually be proven, and therefore there will never be one actual truth.......

Yes one day everyone will believe the same thing.
Then we will have nothing to talk about.
You will be assimilated, resistance is futile!
