For those of you who said no, have you been here? Have you seen some of the crap that these terrorists do to innocent civilians? If you answered no to these questions, your opinion means nothing to me.

I never supported the war since I just didn't understand why Saddam Hussein was voted the worst dictator in the world and I hadn’t noticed: Isn’t the world full of leaders who are murderous thugs? Afghanistan I totally supported—the Taliban were there and they had attacked us on 9/11 but Iraq?
Saddam was universally despised by fundamentalists in surrounding countries as being “westernized” and my feeling is the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We sure haven’t done the Iraqis and good and, since the army has lowered standards for enlistment, more and more poor kids are being sent to die since there’s no future here with limited education and skills and a universal draft would make people of more means end the war in a week.
There were no Iraqis on those planes—most of the terrorists were Saudi, so why didn’t we invade Saudi Arabia? The more I try to get a handle on the why of the whole mess, the more confused I am, and the more I realize we need to get out of there ASAP.

This is a hard question to answer.

While I may not necessarily be "for" the war in Iraq, I am definitely "for" the war against Islam a.k.a. terrorism.

The war actually started here in America on 9/11. We then took the war directly to the source. Be it Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran or where ever else in the Middle East. We are at war against Islam. We did not start the war but if we do not finish it, rest assured that it will finish us.

I would have preferred that we eliminated the threat still within our borders first but I am not in charge of these decisions. America received a very small dosage of what is in store for us on 9/11. If we do not unite together against this very real and very dangerous threat soon, it will be too late.

Please wake up people! The threat is here and it is REAL.

No. I do not. We asked our healthy, patriotic young citizens to wage war in a foreign country based on evidence that was highly questionable at best, while we had real priorities they could have been pursuing. There was never a link between 911 and Iraq or Saddam Hussein--in fact, most of the highjackers came from Saudia Arabia, yet we rushed to call them our strong ally-even though they wouldn't even allow us to establish a base there for this operation. We have other priorities. I recall also being told by the Pres and VP on numerous occasions that our portion of the war would cost about $7B, while the cost is more like $300B, and no end in sight, all the while our own citizens are still suffering the effects of Hurricaine Katrina, and other worthwhile government programs (educational loans for higher ed, for ex) are being cut to help pay this huge bill. This war has truly damaged our reputation in the world--it casts us as aggressors and this makes us less safe, not more, because radicals have been invigorated in their hatred towards us, swelling their ranks. So many innocent Iraqis have died besides all this, and even though many will say we are bringing freedom there, THEY DID NOT INVITE US TO HELP THEM! Just think if the Chinese decided that only about 1/3 of the 300million people in this country approve of the president, so they're going to invade, to free us from his mess, and started rolling down our streets, busting into our homes--all to "help" us? How do you think you would feel? You would HATE them, as I am sure many Iraqi's have now learned to do towards us.

No, because the United States has no justification for being there. Iraq was NOT a threat...they didn't have WMD's. They had NOTHING to do with 9/11. The Iraq War has only created MORE terrorists, not less. And I'm sure that the whole War on Terrorism is going to be just as successful as the War on Drugs was...yeah, that worked really well. When will the U.S. learn that you can't declare war on a social problem or idealogy?

I support the war in Iraq, but I don't agree with it. I support our troops in their struggle. I support the war by paying for it with my taxes. I support the Democratic Senators in my state that have never failed to vote to fund the weapons and supplies our soldiers need to fight.
I also support the ideals for which our troops believe they are fighting, especially the spread of freedom, the freedom that gives every American the right to disagree with the President or to criticize the wisdom of this war.
Although I may not agree with it, I do support it...far more than many who advocate the war in Iraq and yet make no sacrifices for it.

I support the war in Iraq, because I do not want to fight the war inside USA. There are so many rumors of war. If Iran or Russia or Syria, gets involved we can kiss our "freedom" good-bye. Just wait and stay alert!

North Korea, Somalia, Darfur, Afghanistan, there are so many more important things we need to be focusing on in the world. I just don't see Iraq as a very high priority, especially compared to things going on elsewhere affecting the United States, possibly the world. And that's not to mention what's going on here.

First if you haven't been there, then shut the **** up. You don't see what these terrorist do over here and how they treat people. All you do is listen to CNN and just run around being there little pull string puppet toy. What we are doing is a great thing. Look at how many years there life was made for them, look at how far they have come. We are doing great things here. You say you care about the solder, but it show you don't. If you did you would support the war, so we can get our job job and go back to normal life. The more you criticize our country and our government, the more the terrorist use that to help promote other terrorist to come and fight. If they new we were into this fight and every backed it, they could recruit anymore people and we could get this war over a lot faster. Just my two cents. All I can say is thanks for the people who truly understand and truly back us.

No. The war on terror was in Afghanistan. Since moving the troops to Iraq, we now have a resurgence of violence in Afghanistan and a mess in two countries. Not to mention we have not military to back up our words with Iran and N. Korea, two imminently more problematic situations than Iraq ever was.

of course i support the war. i have family over there so of course i don't want them to be there and i wish that we could all live peacefully but we need to show ALL terrorists that you can't just hurt us and expect us to do nothing. we can't just sit here while our friends and family die due to ignorant s.o.b.'s who think that they can take advantage of us. Granted i do think that bush does have a hand in the oil and that it could be a possible reason, but i do support the troops, this war and this country. maybe someday when people who don't support the war are affected by this, and i mean maybe have some loved ones in Iraq or (god forbid) have someone they love taken from them by terrorists then maybe, just maybe they will change their opinion. until that day comes no one can stop you from telling people how you feel about this war, its your opinion, its your right as an American, key word being AMERICAN, you live in this country and you should support it, but because this is America, NO ONE will force you, just think about that.
