I have no doubt that this thread will fill up with conspiracy theorists who have addled their brains thinking "The Da Vinci Code" is real life and that the Templars still exist.

When the order was suppressed in 1314, many of the knights went to other orders (such as the Hospitallers) or into monasteries, so it is impossible to say categorically who the last surviving Templar was.

What we can say is that Jacques de Molay, who was burnt at the stake in 1314 was the last Grand Master of Templars. You could argue that his death effectively finished the order and therefore that he was the last Templar.
