An absolute chart shows the actual values of the quantity we want to represent. A relative chart shows such values as a fraction or a percentual value of a value taken as reference.

For example , suppose you want to put in a column chart the sells of a product in the North, South, East and West Suppose the sells are as follows

North 300
Soutt 200
East 250
West 250

In an absolute chart, yoiu would put exctly the values above. In a relative chart, you would o something like putting how much each of those represebts of the total sell 1000. So, you would put

North 30%
Soutt 20%
East 25%
West 25%

absolute charts have variable whose values which doesn't depends on other variables in the chart or otherwise.
in relative charts the values of variables are related to others
