I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again. They blocked it for a reason (2 actually), as we did for our students, so stop asking for ways to get around the block.

One, because of the distraction it causes - you may be able to use it responsibly, but many cannot...fairness dictates that the same rules should apply to everybody.

Secondly because of the large number of lurkers and pedophiles that also flock to this site, it is not a safe environment to for any young person. Why?? Would you have the wisdom or experience to pick if the person you were chatting to was actaully an adult pretending to be a child??

If you want a safer (and actually a better run site all round ), have a look at Multiply.com. It is a fantastic and vibrant community, but there are safeguards built into the site to protect people such as yourself from the types of people you really don't want to be encountering.

Not the answer you were after I'm sure, but hopefully it is of some use to you

And will people PLEASE stop helping these guys try and get around such blocks - let them at least wait till they get home to use the damned site!

It is a no go. If myspace.com is blocked then you are touch out of luck. There are websites out there that let you anonymously search the internet, example is: Anonymouse.org but that will only let you see myspace.com's main page or something like myspace.com/username. You won't be able to login or interact without the block taking effect.

I believe you can use a proxy blocker to get around your schools rules.

"Intercepting:

Many organizations — including corporations, schools, and families — use a proxy server to enforce acceptable network use policies (see censorware) or to provide security, anti-malware and/or caching services. A traditional web proxy is not transparent to the client application, which must be configured to use the proxy (manually or with a configuration script). In some cases, where alternative means of connection to the Internet are available (e.g. a SOCKS server or NAT connection), the user may be able to avoid policy control by simply resetting the client configuration and bypassing the proxy. Furthermore administration of browser configuration can be a burden for network administrators." From: Wikipedia.org

If you google "proxy blocker" or something similar you should come up with a site that will allow you to bypass the schools proxy server. It works at my school, so I can't see why it wouldn't work for you. Good luck.

Actually (probably to Carella’s headache) most likely there is a way to bypass school (or work) firewall, problem is could creates serious hole in school’s defense. One of the reasons IT department install those firewalls is not only to restrict access but also to protect school network from infection,… and unfortunately going to MySpace (which is known to contains lots of maliciously contracted pages) would be VERY bad idea. You could kill whole school network and cause it huge losses. Also even with this method (at least without court warrant) IT department would not be able to tell what you did on Internet and where you go (to what sites) it would be able track PC which did it.
UNLESS YOU LOOKING FOR SERIOUS TROUBLE UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS METHOD TO FREELY SURF INTERNET (especially if you not technically oriented person, who uses Internet Explorer, doesn’t block scripts etc – another words knows how to surf safely).

Even it is possible for IT to make impossible for VPN client to sneak out, in most cases using it should be sufficient to bypass corporate firewalls. VPN client directs all PC communication to VPN servers via encrypted connection, making impossible for anyone who monitors traffic (unless it has physical access to connecting PC or has court warrant) to tell where communication is directed to and what it contains:

One thing which would have to be examined before using it (to make sure communication is really safely encrypted impossible for anyone to break), is to check browsers preloaded certificates, and make sure that clever IT department haven’t insert there some of their own which would allow decrypt communication before it leaves local network by directing it through local proxy.

Posted method in hope it will be used responsibly, by people which sometimes indeed have a need to bypass little too nosy employers or teachers for that matter.

IF YOU ONE OF THOSE KIDS WHICH AFTER READING IT THINGS “AHA! NOW I KNOW HOW TO CREATE HAVOC!” – KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU MAKING A CONFRONTATION WITH PEOPLE (IT DEP) WHICH ARE MUCH SMARTER THAN YOU, WILL BE ABLE TO OUTGUN YOU WITH KNOWLEDGE AND ALMOST FOR CERTAIN EVENTUALLY TRACE YOU AND CRIMINALLY PROSECUTE YOU.

I have an idea, while your at school focus on school. Any posting or messages to your Myspace can wait until you get home. People are far too consumed with Myspace and other technology that they push aside opportunities to actually learn or enjoy the world.

some idiots actually block the address but not the IP. you can try

http://baremetal.com/cgi-bin/dnsip

enter the url and see if you can get a IP address, use the IP as the url and see if u can connect.

You can make a home page. then have that home page have a link to my space.

but dont put myspace in it. have it go to one of those spoof redirects pages.

Then all you have to do is log on to your home page and there you go.

hidden pages show up. But be careful cause you could get in trouble. But i dont think it's illegal or anything.
you dont wanna do that!!
good luck
