Yes, but what about this: The Spanish pronunciation of Jesus sounds like "Hey Zeus!" which is the beginning of the holy prayer to Zeus.
Moreover, the Christian practice of baptism comes from the ancient Greek prank of suddenly emersing a wannabe disciple's head in water so he thrashes around and freaks out and nearly drowns and then the Greek wise guy says "When you want my wisdom as you want air then you be my student!" Christians got baptism from the Greeks not from the Bible.

Lol. I have to say, Apollo is sexier. And then there's the thought that Jesus was actually Osiris, which has some truth probably. Gods have been rising from the dead for centuries, certainly long before Christianity, but then, there's not much originality in any religion.

Actually if you ever become an historian, you will find that many cultures and religion adopted the trinity -- the idea of father, mom, and child. ..... one of the most important is Egypt -- Osiris, Isis, and Horus. Much of the Book of the Dead (really better translated as "the book of going forth by day" found its way into the bible -- the beattitudes come from it, as does the prayer "...though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death...."

I prefer Apollo------the Greeks were not problems to the Jews living among them.
And, you are correct------------many of the things in Christianity are taken from the Greeks and the Romans. The church knew what the people would accept, and catered Christianity to them.

that is because nothing in Christianity is original everything from the day you go to church to Christmas so that does not suprise me that the pictures of them look so close. the reason for this is that the roman emporers had to adapt so they changed stuff to correspond with the earlier pagan religions

ok... but you know, Zeus raped his sister and forced her to marry him.... Then he went on to rape someone else and then ate one of his kids... So if you wanted to go with the religion of the Olympians, You would really have to include Zeus in that seeing as how Zeus helped in defeating the Olympians... And I'm not up for worshiping Zeus... Not At ALL!

I don't think there was a picture of Jesus anywhere from the past. What you see "Jesus" is a figment of imagination by people. They are call icons. Don't confused Christianity with Catholicism.
