I bought a Dyson about 2 1/2 years ago, on the advice of my sister. Best vacuum I've ever used. To give you an example: I bought the vacuum when I moved into a new (to me) house, and used it for the first time after the place was vacuumed twice already, once by the owners, and once by a professional cleaning service. When I was done vacuuming, the canister was half full of dog hair. And I didn't have any pets! Best vacuum for the money.

I have 3 dogs & 2 cats. We would go through many vacumns. We finally bought a Dyson and what a world of a difference it made. No bags for one thing. It does such a great job when we are done vacumning it was like walking on new carpet. I checked all over and the cheapest place to get one was Walmart. If you get one you won't regret it.

I love my Dyson. I have 2 dogs and vacuum every day. The Animal does the job.

Listen to me when I tell you that it is the best value for your money. I bought one last year (2005) after much research as i was tired of buying v. cleaners every few years. Don't listen to Consumer Reports but people who acutally bought them. My husband was against it and his complaint is that the Dyson does too good a job as he is afraid it is sucking up all our carpet! The attachments are easy to manuever so you don't feel the hassle of changing them.

they are amazing i have to admit. new ones are extreemly pricey tho. people often sell re-conditioned ones on ebay - thats where i got mine from and its amazing-£25 . here in our local auction house there are often many dysons in there - my friend got one for £50.
if you do get one - hoover abit of carpet with your normal hoover first - then go over same spot with your dyson - i was in shock to see how much my other hoover didnt pick up atall!
id never get any other type of hoover apart from a dyson now

Go on Ebay and look for one, they sell for cheaper than retail. Everyone I know that has one loves it, so I would say its worth the money.

No don't do it. They cost way too much. You need to read consumer reports and you will change your mind about getting one. No pun intended but they suck.

I hear they are really terrific, albeit pricey. They are wickedly heavy, though - i looked at buying one in a Sears once.
