Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no Air Force base anymore in Germany.
The base you are speaking of is Rhein Mein Air Force Base. It officially closed around December of 2006.
There are many good hotels in Frankfurt, or if you are okay with public transport then Nordenstadt, Germany, or Wiesbaden are good choices.
Wiesbaden has a military hotel. The name of this Army hotel is the American Arms. If you are looking for reservations they are often hard to get. The Armerican Arms is almost always full in the summer, and around Christmas with people outprocessing or inprocessign with the Army. You can try to get on, but you have to have many things to check in, and it might be easier to check into a German hotel. To even get on the compound you must either have orders with a passport, or a military ID.
There are some cheap hotels in Germany if cost is a problem. In Wiesbaden there is a Dorint, or an Ibis which are about 30 Euro a night.
Hope you enjoy your stay!

I think you should look at the following: For Air Force: http://www-p.afsv.af.mil/LD/
That will give you a list of the bases with lodging through out the world. Also on that page is where to go for Army, Navy and Marine Lodging. The price vary at each installation; but are very reasonable and safe. Most have email and telephone that you can contact them about reservations and prices. Have fun and enjoy. cheers

To expand on what Eldridge and others have said....
Rhein Main is closed. And unless you have orders or other mitigating circumstances, forget about the American Arms Hotel. Go find a German hotel, you'll probably like the service better anyway.

Agree with the third answer. Rhein-Main AB closed December 2005.
Spangdahlem and Ramstein AB are both still open; however, they are more than an hour from Frankfurt, if that's where you want to be.
