Some questions are really difficult to understand or are ambiguous and attract a lot of adverse comment from those attempting to answer the questions.

There are several possible answers to your question:
1. They are lazy.
2. They are teenagers.
3. They use a lot of slang.
4. They aren't American and are writing the words as they sound.
5. They don't read that much, hence they don't have a big vocabulary.
6. They don't care.
7. They think what they wrote is correct because their brains didn't register the mistakes (this often happens with typos).
8. They are dyslexic.

Spelling correctly is really important to some people and the least bit important to others, I do like checking my questions and answers before sending them, but I have found that in yahoo answers not everyone does this.

Spelling examine is concentrated around American English .. so some persons might desire to be careful, we've used it, yet no longer allowed the adjustments .. too whit shade concentrated aluminium levelled all tutor as misspells in spell examine, yet are the appropriate spelling for those persons employing common English

It's due to the slow erosion of standards in society, rebellious teenage attitudes, the "I want it right now" outlook of the modern world, George W Bush, Osama Bin Laden, and the little voices inside my head telling me to write this. Having said that, there are more important things in life than spelling. No misspellings found. Oh goody!

I think it may be that they are in a hurry or a lot of people seem only to know how to type in IM speak. I had to ask my son what LMAO meant. That was embarrassing when I found out the answer.

It gets my wick too. It's not as if it costs anything to use. Its the same for those who reply too. Sometimes its complete gobbledygook. And yet worse still is the perversion of the English language that is text abbreviations being used.

It's just lucky that questions and answers aren't written on paper or it would probably be even worse!

Good question..
Unfortunately the only answer seems to be
the same answer which explains the atrocious
spelling and grammar in the first place...
"Stupidity"..

No idea - but I like to think I am a good speller!

I think some are due to keyboard mistakes - people don't check their questions before submitting them...
