I have been reading conflicting information and I was hoping for someone who might shead some light on this for me. Are there any medical complications to having your tubes tied? Is there a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy? Is it really not 100% effective against getting pregnant? Can you develop scare tissue around where they cauderize the tubes? I have an appointment with my doctor but not for several weeks so I was hoping for some more information before then. Thanks.

And please don't tell me to search for it. If you read the question you would see that I have been looking up information and am asking for personal experiences and knowledge.

I had tubal ligation about ten years ago, and have not had any problems with anything, my periods didnt change and i have never had an ectopic pregnancy or any other pregnancy. I would assume that there would be scarring where they cauterize the tubes but that would be the same for any operation. There is always the small percent of risk as with all medical procedures. Personally i have had no problems at all. Hope this helps and good luck
