my x husband, deceased as of 12/14/2004 has 2 children, was laid off from Tyco electronics. How do we find out if there was any pension money or 401k monies left for his children.

When he died, he either had a will or his estate should have been probated. In either case, his biological children should have been notified. If he had a wife, it's possible everything went to her. Your children, still should be able to find out. Start with either his wife, or his attorney or whoever was handling business affairs after he died. Ask questions and make phone calls.

I can think of 2 ways. (1) call Tyco electronics and ask them (go to the human resources and they will be able to refer you to the correct site) (2) Go to the Financial Respondibilty site of your state, look for unclaimed property and then put in his name. If his name shows up then follow instructions at this site. (I found over $350.00 that belonged to my site at this site).
