When you protest screaming your views to the opposition, are you mad at them because they believe a baby is being murdered, and are trying to put a stop to it? Or do you think they really don't believe it is a baby, and they are just trying to "control your body"?

I don't like abortion, solely for the fact you're dealing with life, i mean damn i'd be pretty pissed if they aborted martin luther king, or aborted the woman who's fighting for women's rights here. And for those who say "oh don't put that child in this world to suffer" i mean honestly, EVERYONE suffers in this world, you're gonna kill somenoe cause they may suffer in this world? That's like sayin i won't have sex cause i might feel good. Anyway, abortion isn't something you can debate in just a paragraph...so i'll just stop there.
But as far as the question, the EXTREMISTS, that get buck wild and violent with their protests, i suppose it's more the baby is being murdered and to end it. Kind of the Catholic way of thinking. As far as making it legal, i'd only let it be for the sake of cases such as rape or she could die....but for reasons as the sake of 'mistakes', 'accidents' 'irresponsibility' anything that if you didn't do it in the first place you'd NEVER have to worry abou it cases.....then hell nah....people need to be responsible for their actions, and stop lookin for the easy way out of their own problems. Even with the case of children, it's obvious the parents weren't able to deal with their child, so lesson learned.
There are more complicated situations but, meh just had to put my 2 cents in.

I don't scream, most of the screaming I see is done by men and women standing in front of doctors offices or by the side of the road waving pictures of fetuses. I wouldn't like it any better if they had pictures of giant gallstones or cancers, so its not the 'proof you are killing your baby' pictures I object to, its just the time and place.
When abortion was illegal, it was still done. It was just more dangerous for the mother, frequently leaving her sterile or with serious infections and I find it quite disturbing that so few pro lifers care a fig about the mother once she has delivered. Sure they get a nice basket and good words, but where are they when the baby is a teen and hasn't been raised right because a 13 year old who becomes a mother needs a mother herself?
Where are they when a single woman raises her severely deformed baby and the insurance (if she has any) has run out?
Do they support strong welfare measures when a married woman has more children? True enough I hope some may, but the majority of them are against the very welfare that feeds the children they insist are carried to term even if its against the mothers wishes. Motherhood lasts forever and who is willing to pay for that for someone else?
I have never marched in a prochoice rally or donated money, but I am a realist and I remember that time when laws against abortion just meant it was done in unsterile conditions and with untrained personnel.

My whole issue on this is rather complicated...

I don't scream at the opposition, but the thing that makes me angry isn't their belief that it's murder, but rather their tactics. Those tactics include, on the more fanatical side, bombs and threats. Even the moderate side includes screaming at scared young women that they're horrible people because they found themselves in this position.

They also don't seem to take into account a lot of the extenuating circumstances that exist in this issue. For example, financial concerns, concerns about the age of these women and the responsibility that is required not only to raise a baby but even to carry one full term.

Also, even if it's made illegal it will still happen. It will just push it underground. It's as logical as making alcohol illegal. Yes, it's a scourge on society, but too many people will break the law for it to be effective.

Personally, I don't think I could have an abortion. However, taking that choice away from other people (ONLY in cases where the fetus is not viable, meaning could not live outside of the womb) is not the government's job.

Okay, Here it is..... Finally someone with the right question to ask.
I personally believe that these people for "pro-life" are trying to control what other people decide to do with their lives, or their "babies" lives. Their is no way i would be mad at someone for "pro-life" that is their opinion and EVERYONE has the right to make their own decisions and make their own choices, however its those "pro-life" people who push in your face those pictures of a fetus in a jar, that piss me off, its ovious to me they are trying to make you change your mind, as if making that decision wasn't hard enough you need someone who doesn't know what kind of possition you are in to judge you and throw S*** in your face!! I don't think anyone wants to put a stop to "it" it's not that people who are "pro-choice" are for abortion they are just more understanding to peoples situations and believe they have a right to make up their own minds!!! It is a fetus, and if left alone to grow in the mothers body will become a baby, however at that point EARLY in the pregnancy, it has no mind to think. So i believe many people think of it as not a baby, do you know it takes about a month after conception before the babys first heart beat? How can you kill something that doesn't have a heart beat? Anyways i believe people who are "pro-life" don't think of the consiquenses some people have to face during pregnancy, or after pregnancy!!!!

Where I live, it is the pro lifers screaming in these young girls faces calling them murderers, even if they are at the clinic to get birth control. They lined the streets with their 20 foot tall pictures of miscarried term fetuses (NOT abortions) and the only time anybody gets in their way is when they show these pictures to children. Last summer, the folks in town (NOT pro choice, just anti hurting children) stood in fron of these guys wiht 21 foot tall sheets, to block these pictures from being shown to children. Now I ask you, who were they trying to protect? THAT is what I have a problem with. You can feel any way you want, as long as it doesn't infringe on my rights to life liberty and the pursuit of hapiness. And yes, I don't hink they care about the child or the mother, just exercising their shock values. You 'd never see my church out there, but you would see ,my church running adoption agencies, and half way houses for young mothers. Because they DO care about the PEOPLE, and not just the CAUSE.

No one knows for sure whether abortion is murder, or if it is not. Activists on both sides are opinionated, can be rude, foul mouthed, and insulting.
I am glad that I have never been in the situation where I had to contemplate an abortion, because my gut tells me it is wrong. I am also glad that I dont espouse my views to others that are contemplating it.
What I do abhor, however, are the clinic protesters that wave photos of fetuses in my face when I drive by a Planned Parenthood office. They have no right to do that.

I've never screamed my views at anyone; I want people to come to their own decisions. I do think the pro-life crowd believes it is murder, but I also think that many refuse to see it from any other angle (scientifically, for example) and instead turn it into a question of morality and faith, which in my mind is not what this is about. For me, it is about my personal right to my body.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the abortion rate among women of child bearing age in the U.S. is only 2%. That is a very low number.
I can't understand why this issue gets more attention than a welfare system that allows for public money for those people who produce children with everybody under the sun just to receive public assistance. With 17% of the households in America receiving welfare, I see this as something that needs as much as or more attention than abortion.

I get angry at them because I don't think they believe is a baby. Otherwise why would they think it's okay for a woman to abort when her life is danger. Shouldn't the "baby"'s life be more valuable because it hasn't experienced life? I have a friend who is pro-life and she criticizes those pro-lifers that think it's okay as she says "to kill a baby because the mother is selfish to give her life up" and I wonder this myself. Why do you think this is?
