No "Tesco Software", is a rogue fly by night software company. You want to stay away from these types of companies. As you will only get what you pay for when it is that cheap, (embedded spyware/trojans). Actually you can have embeded spyware/trojans in the well known brands also. You just have to download and save to a folder and then scan with your spyware or antivirus program before you actually install the program. s

If you looking or a good free antivirus program that I have used for nine years in my backup pc. Download from http://www.avast.com They have excellent state of the art technology in their ability to detect a virus or trojan malware. This company is out of Prague. You can download their free home for personal use. They will ask you for your email address as they will send you a free key that is good for one year. After one year you just request a new key.

Their corporate version is the very same software. They only charge corporate.

You will get daily updates, usually twice per day. An all updates are automatic. Scans all 175,000 objects in my system. Never had one virus in over nine years.

http://www.zonealarm. Download their free version of their firewall. Excellent program out of San Francisco. They will give you free updates automatic. An any new version they will give you auto notice that their is a new free version. You don't have to remove the old version as the new version will remove an install for you.

Excellent free antispyware. Download their free home version. at : http:www.emsisoft.com They are out of Austria. Excellent free program that not only scan all of my 175,000 objects, but will protect you from rogue dialers being installed on your system.

What you are looking at are antiviruses. This isn't internet security. They scan your computer for viruses that they know about. They have a database of known viruses that are updated when you are online. I have personally used AVG and Avast. I currently use Avast. If you have a broadband connection, then you will want a firewall as well to help you with your security. Some broadband routers have a firewall built in. If you need one on your PC, then you can get zone alarm for free. The firewall will tell you what programs on your computer are tyring to use the internet.

Tesco just pay to re-brand existing stuff, from washing powder to insurance.
The suppliers love it because they shift bulk and Tesco know there's a market for it.

It's actually OK...the product they have selected is essentially a re-branded version of Panda Anti-Virus, which in itself is a pretty stable and robust anti-virus product.
