Male Nipples - What Are Their Function / Purpose?
Without Nipples the Male Chest Looks Strange - move cursor over link text or nipples in picture to left. The nipples provide a focus point for the male chest. They direct the eye to the curve of the pectoral muscle.
Men and women are mammals (from the Latin mamma breast) a species that have breasts and feeds its young with milk. The human embryo has tissue that will evolve into breasts. Both male and female babies are born with nipples and ducts intact. It is the presence of genes that direct hormones to differentiate the breast tissue. The Y chromosome stimulates hormones such as testosterone to form male features.
Insufficient or defective testosterone, poor tissue responsiveness, or an unbalance of other hormones like Estrogen and Prolactin can cause female like breasts even in men (Gynecomastia). At birth, the small amount of the mother's estrogen in the baby can result in small breasts that usually resolve. There can be an inbalance of hormones during male puberty that can result in temporary breast growth, which for most resolves. There are many medical problems and drugs that can cause male breast growth.
The nipple is actually the central protrusion inside of the pigmented areola. There is a thin muscle just under the skin that when stimulated, tends to flatten the puffed male nipple areola. This muscle when stimulated in a breast feeding woman, projects the nipple for the baby. Nerves that innervate the nipple / areola can produce pleasure for both men and women.
The male chest without nipples has an unusual look - move your cursor over text or nipples. Dr. Bermant did not remove the nipples from this bodybuilder. This picture is after surgery to sculpt the previously deforming gynecomastia. Men's nipples and areola that are puffy can distort the male chest profile. Long nipples can also be a problem. decoration of course!
hehe
well mostly they just plain great for your partner to give you pleasure by feeling, pinching, licking, kissing and maybe even nibbling. And they make an excellent place to put nipple rings on those so inclined. Oh yes, and don't forget, without nipples, what good would nipple clamps be when partners decide it's time for a little S&M type play.

All fetuses start out as female. During the development process our Y chromosome kicks and and the resulting torrent of hormones causes us to develop our boy parts and our collective love for the Three Stooges and farting. The nipples are vestigial from that point on.

That's just God's design.
Here's one for you.
It is a known fact that after some father's infants were born their wives never produced milk, but the fathers did and were able to suckle their young.

Nipples are formed in the womb before the chromosomes responsible for sex begin taking effect on the body. Nipples form and then the x or y chromosome takes over and determines the sexual features of the body. We do not start out as all females, we start out as a generic sexless template that is changed when the sex chromosomes take effect.

Because chromosome-wise, males are half female.
X= female
Y= male
Females are XX....the X is passed from the mother (mother can only pass X chromosomes), and the other X from the father (father can pass X or Y)
Males are XY...again, the X passed from the mother, and the Y passed from the father.
Mens' nipples are from the X chromosome.
Sorry to break it to ya, but men are half female!!

God placed them there as a contact point of arousal for the male, to stimulate the sexual impulses of his nervous system. they are an erogenous zone, and damn sensitive & pleasing to a man to be fondled & teased.

The genetic template is female. When the Y chromosome is introduced, the stuff stays, as it is too much bother to fully get rid of them
