I plan to buy a salvage ws6 car and install engine, six speed transmission and rear end. Also plan to to use all colling and airconditioning components. Any advice would be appreciated.

Check out chevy high performance. Lots of info! Car Craft is good too.

I don't think you are in for a good time The 1987 had torque member to the rear axle and the later car fire wall and cowling way under the windshield cannot be the same AC heater box as the older Fierbird You will have to pay close attention to how the Engine control gets power and grounds.

I think hotrod magazine did an article on this swap a few months ago. for the ls1 swap that is....check their website and do a search for ls1 engine swap...good luck..its a great engine...
