she is one that still enjoys me coming for lunch even if she is in middle school, she says her friends all think I am a cool mom "smiles" also she has no problem telling me she loves me in front of them...I just didnt want to go over board and make her feel kiddy, even though she is a child.

All the girls that I went to high school with loved getting flowers. I wouldn't make it to big of a bunch though because they can be cumbersome carrying them around or to fit into a locker or on the bus. I shouldn't think that there would be a problem with a balloon if the flowers are in a vase as the string can be wrapped around low on the vase so that they aren't in the way. Also, I would stay away from red roses, she may be teased about a secret boyfriend but there are several other flowers that you could choose to send that I am sure she would love. Happy birthday to your daughter, what a good mom you are to think of her feelings before rather then after the fact.

Well im 13 and I dont really know if I would be embarrassed or not. Like if my mom actually came in the school and hand delivered them I would be embarrased. But if you just drop them off in the office and tell her to come get them. Its not that bad. Like she could just put them in her locker the rest of the day and get an added bonus. The flowers would make her locker smell better!

Lots of people in both middle school and highschool recieved things like flowers and presents at school from their parents when I was still in school(only a couple years ago). Mostly they wanted to show off what they got, none were actually embarrassed. Most of the time they were allowed to carry them around all and get attention from other students. Many people would tell them they wish they could have that done.

You're really the only one who will be able to determine whether that action would embarrass her, as you are the one who is most familiar with her personality.
My daughter is 12 and she LOVES it when I send her flowers to school. It makes her feel very special.
I always send pink roses instead of red though. She loves pink, and the one time I sent her red, all of the boys joked w/her that they were "boyfriend" flowers.lol
And don't send like a whole florists shop...just a simple 1/2 doz or so (either in a bud vase or wrapped....wrapped are easier for them to carry home from school.) And no balloons! Very cumbersome and draws alot of attention!
Happy Birthday to your daughter!

I'm 14 and would feel VERY embarrassed if my parents sent me flowers for my birthday. It depends, really. If I were you, I'd give her the flowers once she got home from school. It's your choice.

I loved it when my mom sent me flowers on my bday, but my mom and I are really close. It depends on how close you are. I mean if your daughter won't go to the grocery store with you because it's embarrassing, then I wouldn't send flowers.

I think it's a great idea and don't worry about embarassing her, she soundsl ike the kind of girl that isn't easily embarassed by her mom. And she might be bashful and blushing when she gets them but I think she'd really like that. That's a cute idea.
