Get a mole trap. It straddles the burrows and when triggered by the mole re-digging the part you squashed shut it sends its spikes through it. Nothing dangerous or poisonous is above ground.

Moles are active about 6AM so have it in place by then. If you have a lot of spare time you could instead squash the tunnel and stand there quietly with a shovel to play "whack-a-mole", the real life version of the arcade game.

The black hole trap works well
The type that straddles the mole run with tines that drive into the run. One draw back with the new ones is they will pull themselves out of the ground when sprung. I welded some extensions on mine to stop this.
Another natural way is to get a product from Lowes or Home Depot, It is Granular like (critter litter) the active ingredient is Castor oil. I've had good luck with this. Just spread it on the lawn then water or let it rain. The other reason the moles are there is Grubs. They like to feed on them, The second product that is a long term fix is a BT or bacillus , Called Milky Spore its a long term fix, it kills them naturally and stays in your soil. Then no more grubs. An there are Insecticides that kill them but you'll have to reapply every so often.
I farm an have alot of yard. I hated hitting the soil push ups from the moles and choking on the dust. Here's a site that has both, tap on animal repellents then mole&vole

Castor oil based products sprayed or spead on the lawn really do work. The downside is that it takes time. I had moles real bad so I sprayed a castor oil based product on the yard in 2005. In 2006 I had no moles.

These are all great answers, but all are wrong. Moles eat grubs. Your yard has grubs. Get rid of the grubs and the moles go away. Simple as that. Get the stuff from ortho or spectracide called grubex or grob be gone. It applies like fertilizer with a spreader. You may have to apply more than once. Good luck

I certainly have a tried and examined therapy for the little buggers !! I lived in South Dakota for extremely some years and the moles have been destroying my vegetable backyard ! properly I handed off to pay attention a Paul Harvey information remark sooner or later and he stated that a school in Minneapolis stated that Juicy Fruit gum worked on them . The scent of the gum attracts them and whilst they eat it it plugs them up (for they're no longer able to digest the gum) and it kills them ! you're able to desire to dig down and locate the mole hollow , then you definately shove quite a few sticks of gum interior the hollow then hide the hollow up back . they're going to eat it or perhaps carry it back to their nests . If new mounds reappear repeat the approach , you have better than one family contributors . It worked for me so provide it a attempt !! ( who woulda theory chewing gum worked!!)No poisons no issues !!

Belive it or not, someone once told me that Juicy Fruit down the hole will work. But I am not sure if you need to chew it or if the moles chew it.

One word - landmines. Once one of those little critters digs into one of those, it will be the last hole he ever digs anywhere.
