Ive tried charity shops and have got a jacket but cant find the gold stuff that goes on it.... Would like to find the complete jacket if pos.

The gold stuff is sold at most haberdasheries, it's used for finishing like tussles in cushions and curtains, and you could just superglue it on to the jacket, since it's just for one night.
I don't know where are you based but they sell those jackets at Camden market in London

Get a jacket buy some gold buttons , go to a curtain shop buy some a gold rope curtain tie back and add them to the jacket walla military jacket

Possibly on e-bay, if not you could try a fabric store for the gold trimmings. A lot of them sell a "rope" type material, or you could use the tiebacks from a curtain shop, they would have a gold rope material also.
