It really depends on how long they were together and how much history they had. Or it could be that the person is deceased and carry the picture for some sort of closure.
No matter how long the seperation, they will always have a spot in their heart for that person.
It may not be what you wanted to hear but that is going by personal experience- the difference with myself- I don't carry a picture.

There are a couple of reason actually. The most probable one of course is that the man might still have feelings for the lady at which the best course of action is to make him trash them immediately and without regret thereby symbolically breaking the tie between them.
There is also the possibility that he wants to remember his own history. For that you cannot fully fault him. we as people should never forget where we come from-- no matter how pleasant, painfull, and/or both.
At any rate the only person that can fully answer this question is him as much as we might theorize between us.

Some do cos deep inside them they still have a soft spot for such a person. some do to remember the past and learn lessons from it anytime they go back memory lane reviewing the pics.
I do keep pictures of my ex- but mostly its because I've not had the time or come around to destroying them. Once when i wanted to it felt like I'm cutting off my past, like digging underneath where i stand. it was kind of eerie

Typically it's the woman that has the soft spot for the exes. Men often want to break clean. That friendship and put a happy face on it is strictly because the women want it, men want to move on.
As for keeping old pics, that is not typical man. I'd be worried about it unless the pic has other people in it or is somehow sentimental other than the woman in it.

It depends. If the picture is kept in a wallet or in a locket that the person uses or wears everyday, it is likely that they still have feelings for the person. But if the picture(s) are in an album or Photo gallery, it doesn't mean much.

No, they aren't still in love usually. Where are the pics? If they're in a big frame on the wall, I might worry. But otherwise, I really wouldn't. Maybe it was a happy time in their life. Maybe they like how they looked in the picture. Maybe it was a funny memory. Who knows? When in doubt, ask. Ask about the pic. You might get a funny story out of it.

If they have pictures of their ex and are not willing to part with them then yes perhaps they still have feelings for them. When in a SERIOUS relationship, all pictures of exes should be thrwon away or destroyed. They are the past time to focus on the future.

The main reason that i kept my ex's photos was for the memories, both good and bad. I have kept them because they are a major part of the development of my character, the person that i am today.
I had an ex, at one time, who kept his pics of his exes before me. He told me that he kept them for the sake of history, his own personal history. Some guys have that feminine quality about them.

It depends on where he keeps those photos... I have photos of ALL my ex-girlfriends since like 6th grade, but I never really look at them. They are in an old scrap book that I saving so show my son or daughter what I did when I was their age and who I dated. Better question is do you really feel comfortable with him keeping them? Is it going cause stress on you'lls relationship if he keeps them?

I keep them, even though I am married to another woman.
Just for memories..Soft corner - yes, I do. Doesn't mean I want to sleep with my ex's....
