Attach a receipt when you send it.
How varies between different software but I'm going to take a guess that you are using Outlook and the instructions below will help

Some of the mailing programs provide the facility of mailing receipts like MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, Groupwise etc. But again this depends on how it is configured at the server where the mail is being received. Do they allow the receipt at their end? But in case, both the ends are configured properly for a mail receipt then it is only the question of enabling it when you are sending the email. The steps for enabling will depend on the mailing software you are using. Finally, it is the person who reads can decide if he/ she wants to let you know if it is read or not.

Outlook express 6 tools:
select request read receipt.
you will get a message that the
message has been received. and placed in the Inbox.
Whether it was read the addressee has to confirm !

Go to tools , then click on options , there you will see , sending and receiving mail ....it will tell you right there .
