I'm supposed to be going out with a friend and a load of his work colleagues tonight who I don't know. My friend's a bit unreliable when he's had a drink and I'm worried that I'll be left in town on my own.

Sadly, I don't have anyone to take with me as all of my friends are in couples. Don't want to miss it cos I don't get out that much. It's mixed bunch of people. My friends girlfriend is not coming with us sadly, she has to work.

Just make sure that you make the arrangements to get home. Go and have a good time.

You could, but always have a way out such as your own car, or bring a person that you are cool with so you both can go out, have fun and watch out for each other.
And always carry money and a cell phone because you never know if someone decides to get stupid and you need a quick way out.

Personly, i wouldn't go because you'll feel left out the entire night. I no the feeling when your with a group of people you've never met before and its absolutely awful. On the other hand though, it might be a chance to make new friends. thats all, but its all down to you to decide. Good Luck :)

Yes of course you should, meeting new people can be fun. And you only need to talk to one at a time, look for the one's who look a bit uncomfortable too. Remember that people like to talk about themselves, so ask questions about their likes and dislikes get them to go into detail a bit, but make sure you keeping them talking through your questions. Compliments are good too, but dont over do it. Look for one thing about the person that you like, haircut, trousers, top, eye colour, earings, watch etc and tell them that you like it and ask them about it. I love meeting new people and making them laugh, it makes my day. As for Mr/Mrs Unreliable... tell them that you are making your own way home tonight. Have fun!

I was prepared to say "yes" until I read the part about him not being able to handle his liquor. Unless you are willing to party with folks you don't know and find your own way home, then I'd decline. Another option is to ask another friend to join you. That way, even if he acts out, you'll still have another friend in tow.

I wouldn't go, but that's just me. You might meet someone knew. I would (if you go) stay with the guy you actually know... If he drinks, get someone to take you home or just leave. If he's drunk and you don't know anyone else around. you need to just get out. On the safe side, I would plain not go.

Are you going out with a mixed crowd, men & women? They are going to talk much about business. They may make you feel comfortable. Bring enough money for a cab!

i think going out with people you don't know can make some of the best nights out. you'll have to make an effort to get to know this guy's friends and if he's a nice guy, his colleagues will be nice too.

I would bring a friend with me just in case he has too much to drink. I think you should go and have a good time.
