My doctors said to contact him if anything changes, like if I have more bleeding or more cramping, but does it count if I have an absurd amount of bloody slimy discharge? I know this is gross, but I'm trying not to panic and I just want to know if I should call him or if I'm over reacting.

It depends on how far along you are. If you are early (up to 20 weeks usually), then there really is nothing they can do for you to stop a miscarriage. Call if things get worse. If you are really worried, call anyway and ask them to see you to ease your mind.
If you are late in your pregnancy, it could be your mucus plug. This does not indicate that you will be going into labor necessarily, you can lose your plug days even sometimes a week or more in advance of labor. Keep your eye on contractions!
Good luck.

Is this your first? How far along are you? These are important to understand the implications. It may not be anything to worry about, but to be on the safe side, call him. He will tell you if it is important enough to warrent a visit. Depending on where you are gestationally, it could be several things. One of which is your mucus plug. Try not to get upset, but contact your Dr. to be sure.

Does it look kind of like blood-tinged snot?
If so, it could be your mucous plug.
