I've tried eBay: I'm either not getting questions to answers or the one I did buy (which stated Windows 95 and I checked with the seller) turned out to be Windows 98.
I don't really have a local computer shop and i'm not looking to spend more than £10.

In most cases, keyboards are universal- ie Windows 98 upwards(which most PC's are). Since i'm on Windows 95, that isn't the case for me.
I did try the Windows 98 keyboard and the computer wouldn't accept it.

If you have got your old keyboard and it is an old type then it should be quite a large round connector with 5 pins (DIN type) and a key-way in it, if it is a newer one then it should be quite a small round connector with 6 pins (p/s2 type) and a key-way in it, if you can only get hold of the 6 pin type then you can purchase a converter for it so that it will fit into the 5 pin type, the best place to go is a computer fair and ask the traders there for advice they are always willing to help anyone with problems and also you might just find a bargain or two.

I am not sure what you mean by windows 95 vs 98 kbd. A windows keyboard is a windows keyboard. Keyboards come with an AT style connector, a PS/2 connector, or a USB connector. If you have an older computer that uses the AT type big round connector and a ps/2 type keyboard you can buy an adapter to use it for 5 bucks.
