I have a Dell Inspiron E1705. I'd like to clean the keyboard--dust, etc, but am not sure what the best way to do it is? I haven't spilled anything on it, I just want to clean up the loose stuff that gets in between the keys, etc. Thanks!

Wipe it gently with a Kleenex.

Get a can of compressed air to blow stuff out from between the keys.

DO NOT use cleaning products unless your 100% certain they are safe. Lots of people damage their keyboard with nasty chemicals.

Goto WalMart or a comparable store, and pick up a couple cans of air. They are really cheap, maybe 2 bucks each and they work wonders, getting into all the cracks that cotton swabs cannot.

They make some keyboard cleaners at places like Office Max, Office Depot, maybe Best Buy, or any other nearby Computer places.

lol. I've had a laptop once, and yes it's irritating that you cant get more deeper inside to clean the behinds.
So what i did was just get some cottons which was poured with alcohols (lol), and wiped on to keyboards just to disinfect if there was ever some germs unseen on it., :)

I wonder if my english was right. lol. hehe.

Alcohol and cotton balls. Alcohol is not like water, alcohol will evaporate fast and water won't. Don't drench the cotton ball and squeeze it over the keys, just dampen it. And of course, unplug the lap top first.

I spray a little Windex and clean it with a Q-tip. Good Luck.
