With the recent push for single-sex schools it appears that way.

A law was recently passed allowing school districts to set up single-sex schools. This is mostly due to lobbying by the religious right who believe that co-ed schools are anti-man.

Nelson Muntz says - "Would you prefer the tenets of sharia law being applied in our country?
The Christian right in the USA are your friends."

That is quite possibly the dumbest answer I have ever heard on Answers. What does the Christian fundamentalist right do to protect us from Sharia law besides allowing more Muslims into our country through porous borders and inciting more hatred against America abroad. This hatred then radicalizes more Muslims and incites further terrorism on American soil.

Perhaps we should not become a theocracy and should attempt to maintain some semblance of a separation of church and state. The church does not know what is best for this country.

It is not a zero sum game. We do not have to have sharia law or Christian fundamentalism. Why can't we simply have a government that looks out for our best interests while recognizing that perhaps the "word of God" does not provide a means for governing a diverse society?
