It is from evaporation and condensation. The window is colder than the outside temp. and the dampness from evaporating water builds up on the vehicle and it freezes. They have a product called Rain-X but I never tried it so I don't know if it works. Ask an automotive parts house what they recommend. You will have to get a window scraper for now and when you plan to use the car turn your heater/air-conditioner to defrost and let the defroster melt the ice unless there is alot and then you will have to scrape it.

Hmmm, well, I have found that you can not TOTALLY prevent the windshield from icing, however, you can prevent a portion of it.
1st thing, you must have a CLEAN windshield, cleaning with a vinegar based window cleaner works very well. Next turn the wipers on so that when you turn OFF the vehicle they are in the up position, get a CLEAN (preferably new) towel and spread it between the wiper blades. POOF! When you get out to your car early the next morning there will be a section of your windshield that is not iced over.
There are some chemical solutions available at your local auto store that will assist in keeping an ice free windshield.

Ice is the dew or condensation that has fallen overnight and frozen. Nothing you can do to prevent that from falling on your car other than to park it under something.
You could get a piece of canvas and throw it over your windshield. Then in the morning simply pull it off.

She in all likelihood has her automobile parked less than a tree. doesn't artwork continuously, yet the position I park is less than a tree. i will have an ice-loose windshield some mornings even as the acquaintances are scraping theirs. A decrease radiator hose heater can help you surprisingly. and also you actually do not want to crash on a thanks to the clinical institution. Your witchy neighbor in all likelihood has a miles off starter, which will turn the motorized vehicle off also at a predetermined period. That does not be suitable for you on your difficulty, in basic terms idea i'd throw it accessible as a proof why her windshield will be sparkling contained in the AM. And save your backyard stuff on your acquaintances. human beings like that don't love themselves so one can't like everyone else. stay secure!

it happens when the dew that condensates on the window freezes. to keep it from happening you can park it in the garage or under a carport. if you have neither of these you can put cardboard over the windsheild before the sun goes down.
I usually just go out early and start the car and let it warm up with the heater on to defrost the windshield.

It forms due to condensation, the air inside and outside being different temps causes this. Then the temp drops and it freezes. Probably the best you can do is get an remote start installed, and start the car from in the house with the defrost turned on. You can not prevent it.

Cover the windshield in the evenings
put the car in the garage

It's the dew or for a better word, condensation that freezes during the night. You can not prevent it from happening but, you can put an old blanket or tarp over your windows. Then, in the morning, you'll just have to remove the covering & you'll be on your way.
