Food, followed closely by procreation and the creation of some religion or other.
Once these desires have been satisfied, the next strongest desire seems to be the slaughter of those who do not agree with the religion.

If removed from all external circumstances... our biggest drive would be to survive, have food and shelter...
Money corrupts, it leads to vanity and cheap thrills; love purifies, it leads to what good there is left in a world which is already so corrupt.

That is a bit difficult to determine. I think it's a toss-up between "sex & food." Think about it. We go to dinner, maybe have a glass of wine, come home and later have sex. Or we have sex, and afterwards, believe we've built up an appitite for food. Or....oh, never mind, I can't really say "that." Hmmmm...
Anyway, sex "and" food! Which together would be either "sood,"
or "fex!" Hahaha! Yummy! I think I just "disected" your question...

I can't claim to speak for anyone else, but my desire is to be able to provide for my daughter and protect her.
Mmmm, gotta love those paternal instincts.

SAFETY. This includes safe relationships, physical safety, emotional safety, mental safety. It is only in safety that the human can engage with their surroundings in a healthy manner and flourish in individuality.
And, maybe some food.
