as all what i have is properties under (File) icon when i draged it there is nothing to change

Go to Tools>>Internet OPTIONS>> Then you have the general Tab. At the bottom, there are settings for History.
Are you trying to keep the history? If so you can change the amount of days the History os kept up to 999 days or so. on the same gerneal tab. Another question...do you have IE7 or a previous version?

Along the top of your browser there are text menus
File, Edit, View... etc.
Internet Options (what he probably meant) is under the Tools menu.
