Try to change the way you think about it. Instead of "Oh my God, this is so boring", try "Wow, this will make it so much easier to find stuff and that'll really be helpful", for example. What and how we think about things affects the way we feel about them.

Happy filing! ;.)

See I will explain through a real sequence in my official life. I was asked to purchase a substandard and old configuration type of computers around 15 years ago. I was in problem because the proposal was put up by my very very senior manager and I should simply follow his instructions, however what I did you know I started my noting saying that it is a welcome sign that a proposal to purchase of computers has come and when we chose a configuration it should not be only compared with present day cost but also with the longitivity of the computer and hence based on this the following confugration has been recommended. That all the negative aspect of buying an old date barred computer was replaced with the current standard computer but only negative thing was due to paucity of funds the number computers to be purchased was reduced from 12 to 8. Hope this gives you a lead (answer) for your question.

I hate filing and left my filing to build up over 7 months, how stupid is that.

In the end I thought no-one else is going to do it so I have to do, I know I dont like it, it's boring, I get paper cuts and card board cut but I'm just going to do it. I put the radio on at work (or an I-pod or MP3 or something) and got cracking, it took me about 3 days to finally get it all done but to be able to step back and see my filing tray empty was great. I even got a round of applause form my boss which was great.

Thing is you haven't seen it now, its creeping up again LOL

it's good to find out what motivates your boss. Does your boss want the filing to be caught up? Do they want someone dependable? Look for the words they say. Then make sure you make them happy in the way they are looking for.

Then, once you have done what they ask, ask for a raise!

When I get sent to do some filing or coding I make myself believe that the task IS important. I also sing song in my head because I can't wear my headphones while working (duh..!) I also think about the things I'm going to buy and do with the money I'll earn...

Think of how many files you've done rather than whats left. Also when I usually need to get something really horrible done, like cleaning the toilet etc I just think "Get it out of the way" and you'll be finished before you know it.

....................
I don't clean toilets for a living hon.
