If it pleases you both, yes. I own a saddlebred that is 19 and I've been riding him for 6 years to patrol 80 acres of hunting property. When he's too old to ride, he's going out in the pasture and be ( just ) a horse till he dies. I have a racehorse that I also ride now as a pleasure horse. Do what you want if the horse enjoys it.

I had a 5-gaited Saddlebred mare that had shown, been in parades, and was used as a school horse. She was very reliable, sound, and just about as bomb-proof as any horse I have ever known. Even though I got her in her 20s, we rode her until she was 32 on trails (some with really steep trails), and competed in playdays. She did have some problems with her teeth, but senior food was the answer for her. She died suddenly
at 34 from a heart attack. So, you see, she was great! Good luck with your new pal!

Yes you can use on for almost anything you would like to do.
You may need to do some re-training work depending on what this horse has been doing but it should make a great pleasure mount.
I have a ex-race thoroughbred that is my trail and pleasure horse.

Yes, you can. The saddlebred was bred for various riding styles. I'm sure that your new saddlebred will enjoy this change. Enjoy your new friend.

You can train them for anything that you want. I trained my horses (one is a thoroughbred, other is a 1/4 warmblood and 3/4 thoroughbred and the other one is a black and white paint) and they all know western, english, and bareback juming etc. I rotate each one every day, so they get to ride a different style every day.

YAY yet another SADDLEBRED LOVER! I even have 6 myself. I even have them experienced with the help of a coach and that i watch them perpetually. All nonetheless I do advise you visit a coach, you 1st could desire to commence with lunging that's in basic terms putting an prolonged long line on her halter making her go around in circles. 1st in basic terms permit her intestine used to this, doing what ever gait she needs. while she is gentle lunging, attempt show her instructions like woah, trot, (clucking for going swifter and so on)

Of course you can.. any "breed" can be used for pleasure.. it ultimately depends on the personality of each individual horse to be suited to its use..

A pleasure horse? Exactly what do you mean by that? Last time I checked, bestiality harmed animals... You really need to take your sick mind to a doctor!

SURE. WHY NOT? YOU MAY HAVE TO DO A LITTLE RE-EDUCATING, BUT YOUR HORSE WILL LEARN TO ENJOY IT AS MUCH AS YOU WILL.
