YES, the mind must be matter. But because it moves with speed beyond the speed of light its mass reaches the infinity and cannot be seen.
In some East Cultures, believe that if someone can stop his thoughts for a moment, the thoughts will be materialised. I don't know if this is true or faulse.

Mind/Body duality has been a problem for philosophers since Descartes "cogito ergo sum". For a good layman understanding of the arguments start with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dualism_%28philosophy_of_mind%29
The problem with those that think the mind and body are seperate is how do they communicate? Descartes believed there was a small region of the brain that never decayed or regenerated itself where the mind communicated with the brain. This has later been proven false by later anatomical examinations.
It is my opinion that what we call the "mind" is a complicated affect of multiple brain processes all functioning in a orchestrated whole...this also explains why there are phases of awareness from super awareness during "fight or flight" responses to reflective self awareness, to auto-piloted awake awareness as when driving a long distance to groggy day dreaming...to sleep...to deep sleep lucid dreaming etc.

No, Mind is not matter.
It is the feeling / perception of once existence.
Descartes put it - I think therefore I am.
It is our ability to percieve our own existence that make us what we are.

And when we percieve our existence, we think the thinking goes on in our "Mind". Mind and Heart are synonymous in Hindi Language when we say that.

What is on your mind? What are you thinking. It is just the information stored or being processed in your brain. So you can say it is the state of your brain. But mind is not Matter.

Imagine the Windows Software. It is not matter. It is the state of the cd or dvd or the hard drive where it is stored. But you can not catch feel weight the software itself.

If we conclude it is, then what?
If we conclude it is not, then what?

If we entertain the idea of dense and subtle matter, then mind would be as subtle as it gets.
The mind then might be seen as a movement in denser matter.

Of matter and in matter, like breath is to life.

But after saying all this, the answer you are probably seeking is already determined.

The mind is not matter, the mind is a conciousness. The brain, which many would consider to contain the mind is matter but the mind itself does not exist in a physical state.

yes, it is pure matter,
and is based on chemical reactions, and uses electrical signals to work,
but obviously it is some thing we don't understand fully at the time being,
it is a miracle creation of Allah (God),
if you know how it works, then it is very good for you to be able to use it efficiently,
if you know how the learning process works, it is very helpful for you to learn in a better way,
if you know how the memory works, then it is very helpful to recall and memorise what you want,
we should distinguish between the mind, and the brain,
the brain is the physically seen in side the scull,
and the mind is the processes that take place inside it

Yes, it is. If you don't think so, try this experiment: drink lots of alcohol, so that the physical matter (brain) is affected. What does this do to your mind?
Or, a slightly more painful experiment: try cutting off bits of the brain. Does this affect your mind?

No, the brain is matter.

The mind is the electromagnetic energy field at the center of the brain's network.

I don't believe so.

Matter can only be something physical, solid. Energy is energy and mind is our concious and unconcious state. Matter can not think for it self, our mind can and appears to be a lot more complex then matter.
