I'm sorry to be old fashioned, but it makes you look like an idiot when you write 'dat' and laff and stuff. Go to your English classes at school! For those of you unfamiliar with the word 'school', it's a place you go to learn things!

Chic: 'it's not because that we are lazy or whatever'
Ok, I accept abbreviations and things, but when you can't even write a proper, grammatically correct sentance (such as the above), it gets annoying.

Just a simple. I agree with you. I suggest it is laziness.

The unfortunate thing is that we, as in our society, are evolving in a way that is forcing us to have swift, to-the-point, communications. Everything moves much faster now and that includes our language. Spelling is being re-invented by a new generation that is primarily dictated by pop culture. I, for one, shun this lackadaisical form of expression, and still prefer to explore good old fashioned English! Just keep in mind that the younger generation growing up today is under a lot of pressure to conform, and it takes a very strong individual to swim against the tide.

you're so authentic and it pleases me to understand you're 17 and in touch. My puppy hate is the shortcoming of ability of people to write down contractions. I see 'your' rather of 'you're' so regularly lately it amazes me. It infuriates me when I see it in promotion (that's undesirable sufficient) notwithstanding the worst social gathering i have considered develop into in a birthday card! Then, for sure, we've 'their' rather of 'there' or 'they're'. My different puppy hate is using the expression 'youse'!!!! For heaven sake! The plural of you is YOU! elect i bypass on...? i might want to also love someone to describe to me the rising trend to confuse the words 'weary' with 'careful' and 'then' with 'than'. as an social gathering, "i'm weary of creating use of that raise, it broke down the day till now as we talk" and he or she develop into older then her sister". What? how in the international are you able to confuse those meanings and usages? It drives me insane. How can we predict our little ones to understand a thanks to construct a sentence even as their instructors do not have a strong command of their personal language? as we talk's instructors come from a technology who were no longer taught to spell, use punctuation or construct a sentence and yet they're given the responsibility of education destiny generations. they're ill-equipped for the interest yet practise departments look unwilling to do some thing about it. mom and father, better practise authorities and employers were calling for substitute for decades with out reaction. that's time for substitute yet who will make that adjust? regrettably i do not have the answer. I wish I did.

Your not old fashioned! You are right! I think it is laziness! I think some would rather look unintelligent instead of picking up a dictionary or use a spell check. I always wonder about the children of these people-do their children feel the same way or are their children embarrassed? I loved your question!

It is especially sad when the question pertains to finding a high paying job! No employer will higher someone who writes like some people on here!
