What are your thoughts about distributed computing to find cures for diseases?

PC Magazine had an article on these in the Nov. 06 issue, and I'm curious what your thoughts are about these? Do you recommend one above another (not in terms of diseases it fights, but in terms of how effective it works on PCs and how configurable it is for things like CPU usage.) PC Magazine had a few listed, but I'm cuirious to hear about your experience with other distributed computing applications.

It's about as effective as using SETI@Home to detect extra terrestrial life.
