Please do not buy a coat online. How can you tell how warm a coat will be from just an online picture? Go to a store. After you feel the coat in person, if you still like it, then buy it online if that is cheaper.
Expect some days between zero and 30 degrees Fahrenheit in NJ.

Personally, I think it's a little too old for a 16 year old. It's a style better suited to an adult, not a teen (no offense intended.) And as a former NJ resident, I can tell you that the winters there can get very cold and the humidity makes it feel even colder. That coat doesn't look like it will hold up to the below freezing temperatures that you can expect to see.
You want to look for quilted and/or lined coats. Forget about streamlined silhouettes, staying warm is more important.
For a longer style, this would be a better choice, $78.

Since it has a hood, you don't need a hat, but you might want to consider ear bands for extra warmth, $7.50

If you want a scarf, again stick with the warmer fleece or wools over the fashion-trendy ones, $7.50

Then try their fleece gloves, $7.50.

Sub-total: $78 + $7.50 + $7.50 + $7.50 = $100.50
For a sweater, look for long sleeves in styles that are easy to layer. When you buy winter clothing, you want styles that you can wear over other things. The more you can layer on, the warmer you will be. Plus, you can add or subtract as you need it instead of being stuck sweating (or shivvering) in school and other places where the temperature changes.
Any of these are easy to layer, and they are cute. Buy at least two to start with.

ok long coats are not cool any more and if your looking for gloves, scarfs, coats, sweayer, your not going to get alot with that so you would be able to find gloves, scarfes, and a hat at walmart that could be really cute and everything eles i would save the money to buy a nice sweater or coat at american egale, rue 21, or stores like that. good luck
:)

That coat would look gorgeous on you! You would look very mature....but if you only have a bugdet of $177 the best thing is to go "thrift/vintage shopping" then you would be able to get different styles of winter coats.

Don't open the link it's just bugged my laptop!
For the person who gave me a thumbs down, I was only trying to help you!
As soon as I opened the link, a runtime error came up, luckily my mcafee took care of it, but next time it happens, I won't warn you!
