When I was about 12 I was friends with a group of local children and we had all decided to go "Guising" together (thats what we call "Trick or Treat" in parts of the UK - I live in South Wales.) We had our costumes all made up and had all planned out the tricks etc we were going to use.
This new girl joined the group and she took a dislike to me and decided that if I went "Guising" with them she wasn't going. As the rest of them really liked her they told me I couldn't go. I was gutted as I was really looking forward to it.
So not only did I end up spending Halloween stuck indoors with my parents but this group had the cheek to come "Guising" round our door! When I told them to "sod off" basically they left but came back later that night and egged the hell out of our front door - floured it, smashed up their Swede lanterns, basically made a hell of a mess. My mum had to go over to their houses and tell their parents who thoroughly bollocked them and made them come over and help clean it up.
But they were really nasty to me after that. Took all the shine off Halloween for me as I'd always loved it before that.
Strange how these things stick in your memory - that was 22 years ago!!! I have to say though that I still really enjoy Halloween even though I'm 34! I always dress up if I can and carve a pumpkin. I'm hoping not to have too many scary surprises this year though as I'm heavily pregnant so I really hope the local kids don't decide to be too noisy or mischievious this year.

When I was in my junior year of high school, a couple of my friends and I decided we would egg Mr. Neuchuk's house in Vacaville, California. We did and we got caught. Worst part was when the police made us go back the next day to clean up the mess. This was to avoid arrest. Mr. Neuchuk agreed not to press charges for damaging private property. His whole family was there watching us clean. The egg by then smelled rotten. What a lesson we learned.

One time I went to a party and all they had was punch to drink, and it was green. So my husband & I drank it and with in minutes we were feeling really weird. I told my husband I wanted to go home but neither of us could drive. We finally made it home the next day and found out that it was mushroom punch! Really bad trip. Never spoke to that friend again.

When I was like 12 I went out into the boring neighborhood we moved to after my mom remarried and it was cold, rainy, hardly any houses giving away candy and hardly any kids.
