Is there any sound when you turn it on ? If there's a sound, it may be jammed. No sound, it may be broke and needs to be replaced.

If it doesn't hum when you hit the switch, check the circuit breaker. Usually the reset switch will trip first, but you never know. Definitely get the disposer wrench and see if you can free up the deck inside (with the blades on it). Also, if it looks really rusty inside, it may be time to replace it. Good luck.

if it tries to make noise then quits it might be jammed usually theres a place on the bottom that has a hole that looks like a six sided allen wrench that for a special wrench that came with the unit you put in the tool and turn it several times also look down inside it and see if you can see anything in there its not uncommon to find a bottle capo or something jammed between the teeth and the inside wall of the unit

Check to make sure there is power going to it. If there is a humming sound when you turn it on then it is jammed....you can buy what they call a disposal wrench from homedepot or lowes that can be used to manualy turn the disposal to loosen any jam they are around $5.00
