well its moments like this when its ok to lie... any parent thinks that they're baby is the cutest on earth, (even though it was a baby that wouldnt win a baby beauty contest on earth unless frankensteins baby & an alien baby were the only entrants). Its always the best to just bend the truth 'a little'.....

To me this is one of those occassions which a little white lie is permitted. I was always taught if you have anything good to say, say nothing. You realize this will offend them and if you do so, you are purposely hurting their feelings, and I personally wouldnt feel good about that. I would say you have an adorable baby.

You say absolutely nothing, but even if you tell the truth parents won't listen because for them their baby is the most beautiful baby in the whole world.... So, why bother???

Say "look at all that hair" or "look at those long fingers, a piano player in the making" or "how precious, you must be so proud"
Just find something positive to say you dont have to say its cute or beautiful...... or you could say "wow he looks just like you!" parents want to hear something that makes them feel special and proud. telling them the baby isnt cute will hurt, so dont do it.

i kinda cringe inside and lie saying oh such a sweet baby and then if i want to put a little dig in i might say something like it looks just like one or the other of them.
