The do the same thing which is playing MP3.IPOD is actually also an MP3 player.The later version of ipod can play movies in MP4 format.

Ipods are the most popular kinds of mp3 players. The expensive Ipods can play music, videos, games, and display pictures. Some others mp3 players have the same features, but usually with less storage space than the Ipod (the 30 GB+ ones).
If you want to save some money but still purchase an excellent mp3 player, I would suggest considering Sandisk's Sansa e-serise mp3 players. They hold as much as some of the cheaper Ipods, but carry more features. The cheaper Ipods basically play music, games, and pictures I believe, but the Sansa e-series can also play videos and comes with its own media converter. No annoying Itunes software needed to transfer music.
In my opinion, I would choose Sansa over Ipod.

IPOD's are a brand of MP3 player. They are top of the line. Most IPOD's will allow you to veiw pictures or short videos. Now other brands are coming out with compeating mp3 players that will show pictures and videos.
Ps. I have a 60.00 mp3 player that i have pictures on but I just can't view them on my mp3 player. It has to be connected to a computer. Which is easy since it has a jump drive (which means that part of my mp3 player snaps apart and will plug directly into a computer, makes downloading EXTREMELY easy)

An IPOD is a brand name from MSN. It is an MP3 player just like all the rest. The onyl thing is the Ipod only works with I tunes from Microsoft where the other MP3 players work from all music sites. They are all the same, It depends on the size, style and music capacity you want.

an iPod is a type of mp3 player, the iPod is just an overpriced mp3 player, don't buy an iPod, you'll just be paying for name recognition, something by CREATIVE will do really well for you

"Mp3 player" is the generic name given to a category of devices. iPod is one brand of them... others include Cretive Zen, Microsoft Zune, Sandisk Sansa, etc.

an mp3 player does only ur fave music tracks in files supported by it (mp3, aac, wma maybe). iPOD on the other hand does most of the music file types (mp3, aac, aac+, e-aac+, wma, wav and all) plus u can store pictures and videos along with ur audios.
basically that's it.

i pod is a lot better...alot mp3s cant store pictures..go with ipod
