As I said it feels like they tore the back of my throat. Now it looks like there is a large flap of skin along with my tonsils back there. Forgive my saying but it feels like a big loogy. Can some one help me?

Some thing happened to me, it takes about two weeks to go away it either heals up or comes off. I just noticed I was not coughing any more, and it was hurting to eat. Give it time.
Be well.

I recently had knee surgery about a month ago and the surgeon said it was standard for an anesthetic (with the anesthesia that puts you COMPLETELY asleep) surgery patient to have the breathing tube. There is a different type of anesthesia called "saddle block" which only paralyzes you from your waist down. No mask is required during that type of surgery.

How long is recent? The flap of skin should disappear in 3-4 weeks or so. Similar to gums which have been incised to remove a tooth. They feel boggy for a few weeks then they eventually blend with the other gums.

It's possible that the back of ur throat got cut during the intubation process. Is it painful? The dr can give u some meds to numb it if it hurts, but really it just needs some time to heal.

when they put the tube down your throat right after they knocked you out, the tube was pressed to close against your throat, and now you are feeling the outcome of somebodys neglect.
