IBM are best quality, Compaq used to be good but not so much anymore. Dell are better than they were but not great. I myself have a Fujitsu-Siemens that I'm pretty happy with, I'd recommend them if you have only a moderate amount to spend otherwise go for IBM.

dosnt matter just dont buy the cheapest one get at least a mid range system and a min of 2 year warranty

buy an Apple,they can do everything a pc can do without all the crashing,viruses or spyware
