I don't think this is where you were going with this question, but this is my take on it.
My step grandfather was a bee keeper, and it was a beauty for me to see him doing what my step grandmother called "Dancing with his hive" I would sit in the grass watching him, and it was almost as if he were dancing...it was beautiful, and I know this may sound silly, but I think his bees truly loved him. In the 40 years that he kept bees, he never wore protective gear, and was only stung twice.
