A better question would be "am I talented enough to be an actor."
There is no benchmark for looks in theatre (or film). There are many first rate actors who are not good looking.
Train, study, get experience. That's how you become an actor.

Warren -
Acting is NOT about your looks. Sure - we have the Brad Pitts and the Tom Cruise types - but truly - have you seen Steve Buscemi? He's a fabulous actor! Better than Pitt or Cruise in my opinion. Society may be shallow - but not so shallow that average looking people are not allowed to act.
Whatever you do - break a leg!!

It depends on the role, honestly. You may get a part mainly because you do (or do not) have above-average looks. If a commercial is casting for a "Dad" type and you look more like a Chippendale, you won't get the role. If the good-looking leading male is supposed to be the rugged type and you look like a 12-year-old with a goatee, you won't get the role. As much as typecasting sucks, instead of thinking on terms of "am I good looking enough?" go for the "what kinds of roles do I look like I fit?"

Acting is not about looks, it's about good acting!! If you are a poor actor, good looks won't help, but if you look average or even pretty ugly, good acting can make up for that.

No relationship between acting and good looks. It takes all sorts. If you want to act then go for it.
