He either just flat out doesn't care, or he is just too stupid to understand that it looks so bad on him as well as hurts the Republican party. Is he a true dope or just a true asshole? I've never seen such an arrogant, rotten son of a ***** on television. What an evil person!

Actually, Rumsfield is a very intelligent man. The media is not so intelligent and they just dwell on negative thinking.
Rumsfield is a very positive and good human sent from God to help this country.

I would talk down to the media if i had the chance.

Hell, i'd beat a few of them too.

The media is nothing but a foundation of false information designed for their own gain. Nothing more.

He's doing his job, part of which is to get the media to understand what the administration is up to. This is extremely frustrating when dealing with liberal reporters who are so blatantly bone-headed they ask the same leading questions over & over again hoping to get a different response (isn't that one of the definitions of insanity?) which might give them some reason to publish an article stating how he "lied" again.

The Republican base does not understand condescension, they view it as plain talk. The mainstream media will criticize him. The criticism of a high government official fires up the base, and proves to them that the MSM is left wing and slanted. It also reinforces their belief that only Fox News and right wing talk radio tell the "real" truth.

He isn't a politician and he has no time for their nonsense. He isn't in front of the media because he wants to be. They are a necessary evil that he has to deal with. He knows that the media will twist his words and are not "friends" of the US military.

Grow up kiddo.

He has tried talking nice to the media and they still do not like him, so he just gives them back the same sh*t that they give him. I agree he comes off a little gruff, but he just tells it like it is.

Peekie,
It seems to me that Donald Rumsfeld is trying to do his job and he considers the press as obsticules to his objective and they probably are.
