as being a firefighter also you have to trust your partners- your life also depends on them as they depend on you-- its brotherhood-- him changing jobs will ease your mind but some training is also dangerous but its ALL controlled-- some people that I've met , you can just tell or watch them to know if they will be there for you ( in bad situations ) but ifor the most part firefighters will watch , help , and keep an eye out for his fellow ff-- I'm in charge of 11 men at the station and when on a call that number could be in the 30's but we all watch out for each other so all can go home the our families

My husband is military. Right now he has the job of recruiting. I can't stand it. He works from 7:30 a.m. to after 10 pm and some nights when his Sgt. has an issue or is just being stupid, they work until 1 a.m. He works Monday- Saturday and is off only on Sunday. He stays stressed out so the fighting increased. The kids aren't as close to him anymore because they never see him. They are in bed when he comes home from work. So right now I would have to say I hate his job. He goes back to the real army in May thank God!!! I guess it could be worse, he could be over seas and I am thankful he isn't. I will worry when his time comes for that but right now it's just hating the job :)

My husband works as a dining room manager for an upscale Italian restaurant. He usually works night shifts, occasionally mid shifts. The night shifts bring him home anywhere from midnight to 3am, the mid shifts he comes home from 8-11. Meanwhile, I work all day shifts. I love the mid shifts because I get just enough time to myself. The closing shifts are OK but hard because I end up going to bed (it gets too late) and while I'm able to sleep, I always feel better knowing he's home. Hang in there - hopefully this new job will provide him much better hours.

My husband has a dangerous job that often causes staff to lose jobs or to do street time. It causes criminals to lose good time and also takes away their privilidges or sometimes ups there security levels. There are many precautions we have to take to protect ourselves.
Congrats! on your husbands new position. I am sure you will be like a new woman with you being able to get better sleep. I have tremendous respect for firemen and all that they sacrifice. Such as spending days & nights at the firehouse when they would much rather be with their families.
Best Wishes!

My hubby is a carpenter, which is a fairly dangerous job. I tell him to be safe every day. He cut his hand with a power saw a couple of years ago. Very scary! He's always in high places, or using dangerous tools, or both.
But I know he's careful and good at what he does. Plus, the job gives him a great body!

Well, here's my story. Think about a husband who works everyday, seven days a week, eleven hours a day for more than two and a half years and does not get a dime but is still persistent to crack in the same career. And I know that he is really in office all the time.

I don't worry about him being in danger at his job,but he works 2 weeks days and 2 weeks nites! I hate the nites, it really messes up our schedules and he seems tired all the time during this shift. Matter of fact this monday he goes back nites and I hate it!

Most jobs do have a degree of danger.
I might note here that Truck drivers have the highest injury and fatality of all jobs ( I am not a truck driver)
Most people assume that police, military or fire fighter are highest.
Having been a firefighter (volunteer) I can understand your concern
