Sure they are, that is why some are multiple profiling to promote their views without any support from their own Republican party.

I am an independent, not a republican, so you can take my opinion or disregard it if you choose. I do not trust polls.

Reasons:
Polls are too easily manipulated by how you ask the question

Many voters (myself included) refuse to respond to polls so how can they be considered representative of all opinion?

Polling data is manipulated in general by taking numbers that are favorable to your cause while disregarding or not reporting those which aren't. A good example is war polling data. Many people say they are against how the war is being prosecuted, but the same people support the idea that we cannot just pull out. The first conclusion is reported widely, the second is almost never reported.

The best political minds in the country are almost universally reporting that the election is to close to call. However, Democrats are running around proclaiming themselves the winners. This has been a serious miscalculation of strategy because what it is doing is energizing the Republican base by forcing them to question. Are we upset enough with Republicans to actually put the Democrats in power? Even Howard Dean is urging Democrats to stop this process and that should speak volumes to Democrat voters and yet they just continue to gloat prematurely.

I would think that, if anyone was scared by this news, it would be the democrats and liberals. If, by some chance, you party takes over after the elections and given the way that your operatives have behaved ever since 1994, that the Republicans will not hold your feet to the fire for every one of your policies that fails? Do you think that an extreme liberal from San Francisco is the right person to be leading the House of representatives/ Do you feel that a land swindler is the proper person to be Senate majority leader? I think you are the ones who should be worried.

You know what scares me? Nancy Pelosi. Having Nancy Pelosi two heartbeats from the Presidency if she becomes Speaker of the House scares the living cr@p out of me.

This woman knows how to do one thing really good, weaken the US militarilly. She has voted against every piece of legislation over the past decade that would keep our country strong and secure.

I could live with losing the majority in the House or the Senate but I sincerely believe having Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House is going to be the biggest mistake this country could ever experience.

Heaven help the United States if this happens. Nancy Pelosi certainly won't.

You can find polls to support any view. Remember the polls showing Kerry ahead by a wide margin just 2 weeks before the 2004 Presidential election?

Things must be taken as they come. If the liberals take over, you worry then. You don't worry now. IMHO the Republicans should only be worried about doing their best to win the elections.

Its just another overly melodramatic headline by the Democratic propaganda machine, the mainstream media.

Did you hear that James Webb, the Democratic challenger to George Allen has a passage in one of his books about a man performing oral sex on a boy? Now what was that about Foley?

Special interest groups. That's who runs the country. Once you learn that you will realize that voting republican or democrat doesn't matter. Special interest groups donate the money that get these crooks into office. And don't let the media influence your decisions.

Why should anyone run scared over a poll? Whether they are Democrats or Republicans.
Polls are not that accurate and time and again has been proven that.

So...a poll of 2000 adults, 970 of which MAY BE voters is supposed to scare me?
Please. Everyone I know here is waiting impatiently for their absentee ballots (none of us have gotten one!), and they're all voting REPUBLICAN!
