As long as any future Northern fence is on their (American) dime, I have no feelings either way. As I said to another Y-Question that was similar... If they want to make the same mistake the USSR did with the Berlin Wall, then ultimately it will be at the Americans dollar to put it up, & then knock it down in some 20-30 years time.
They're so intelligent that... the only way to defend ones self, based on history, is to isolate ones self... which Kim Jong Ill has it patent down so well, maybe the USA can copy his genius?

We don't have a problem with thousands of Canadian citizens crossing the border in violation of immigration laws.

Canadians by and large aren't in the US working illegally, many being paid in untaxable cash.

Canadians aren't generally showing up penniless in emergency rooms and hospitals, requiring taxpayers to cover their medical costs.

Canadians are generally not in the US creating enclaves of people who refuse to learn the English language, flying the Canadian flag in preference to the Stars and Stripes, and bragging about "retaking" this country in the name of Canada.

Canada and the US share the World's largest open border beacuse both countries respect each others law enough to allow that relationship. As an American, I am proud that we have such a close relationship with Canada. I wish we could have the same relationship with all of our neighbors.

it's funny how people get so worked up on something. the real issues are just staring us in the face, yet people want to build a fence. i really don't care, it just makes life more interesting. but, it would be nice if one day people decided to tacke some real issues like poverty, illiteracy, or hunger.

and who said we don't need a fence on our north border? It's just the south border needs to be secured first, then we can work on our north border
